Two pairs for £22 (£11 per pair).

Two pairs of low-cut merino wool trainer socks, cut to sit below the collar of a trainer so nothing shows and nothing rubs.

They are made from fine merino fibres, which is what gives the sock its softness, breathability and moisture-wicking behaviour. Sweat moves away from the skin instead of pooling underfoot, so feet stay drier through a gym session, a run or a day of errands.

More Details

Merino wool helps regulate body temperature, keeping feet warm in cold conditions and cool in hot weather, making these socks suitable for various climates.

Merino wool has natural antimicrobial properties that inhibit the growth of odour-causing bacteria, keeping your feet fresh even during prolonged wear. The material efficiently wicks away moisture from the skin, keeping feet dry and preventing discomfort caused by sweat.

Merino wool is known for its durability, ensuring that the socks maintain their quality even with regular use and washing. Designed to minimise friction and reduce the risk of blisters, providing a smooth and comfortable fit.

The lightweight nature of merino wool makes these socks breathable, preventing overheating and promoting airflow around the feet.

Merino wool is a renewable and biodegradable resource, making these socks an environmentally conscious choice.

Care Guide

Alpaca and merino are durable, naturally antimicrobial fibres. A little care keeps them soft and shaped for years.

Wash

  • Cool or cold water, gentle/delicate cycle
  • Turn inside-out and use a mesh laundry bag
  • Mild knitwear/delicates detergent — no bleach, no fabric softener

Dry

  • Lay flat or hang by the toe
  • Never tumble dry on high heat (causes felting & shrinkage)
  • Reshape while damp

Wear & Store

  • Wash every few wears, not every wear (alpaca & merino stay fresher longer than cotton)
  • Fold flat — don’t roll tightly or stretch the cuff
  • Store clean in a breathable drawer; cedar or lavender deters moths naturally

Pilling?

It’s natural, not a fault. Gently remove with a fabric comb or pill shaver — never pull by hand. Pilling reduces after the first few washes.

These are genuinely the most comfortable trainer socks I’ve ever had. I particularly like the lip at the back. No rubbing no blisters and no slipping down the heel. Very comfortable with a cushioned sole and the merino wool is so soft.

Dan

These new merino trainer socks have honestly surprised me. Soft, warm, and they still look brand new after loads of washes. The ankle pad's a small thing but it makes a real difference.

Probably the best trainer sock I’ve ever had

Merino wool is soft and my feet didn’t sweat at all in these. I particularly like the lip which stops any rubbing or friction by my trainers.

Real customer stories

"From Gallery Floors to the Apiary"

I spend my working days on my feet, guarding the nation's treasures at the Fitzwilliam Museum — easily 10,000 steps a day walking the gallery floors. Noble Crew socks have become a daily essential. They're warm, genuinely comfortable, and hold up brilliantly to hours of standing and walking without a second thought.

What I didn't expect was how well they'd suit life outside work too. As a hobbyist beekeeper, I wear my Noble socks whenever we do hive inspections — they're just as at home outdoors as they are on museum floors. Whether I'm on duty or tending the hives, my feet stay comfortable all day.

Thoroughly recommend Noble socks — for work, for the outdoors, for everything in between.

After forty years flying commercially, retirement hasn't kept me out of the sky. I still take my Tiger Moth up most weekends, open cockpit and all. At altitude, the cold bites fast — but my Noble alpaca wool socks keep my feet properly warm the whole flight. Lightweight, breathable, remarkably insulating. Simply the best socks I've flown in. Highly recommended.

Salt Air and Sixteen Miles

I walk the old pilgrim paths along the North Norfolk coast most months — wind off the sea, mud underfoot, and never quite the weather you dressed for. These alpaca socks are the reason my feet stop being part of the conversation. Warm when the wind turns, dry even when the boots aren’t, and no blisters after sixteen miles into Wells-next-the-Sea. Simple as that: they let me think about the walk, not my feet.

JENNY H. — North Norfolk Coast Path

A woman stands outdoors on a grassy hill with bare trees and a blue sky, smiling while wearing a dark coat, patterned sweater, jeans, and boots. A brown dog sits nearby holding a tennis ball.

From Border to Bridleway

Half my week is spent on my knees in the borders, the other half out on the bridleways with the dog. I needed one sock that could do both, and I hadn’t expected to find it.

Noble socks have become the one I reach for without thinking. Soft enough for a morning of weeding, sturdy enough for a six-mile loop by the afternoon — no rubbing, no damp, no fuss.

They’ve earned their place in the boot rack. High praise from someone who owns rather a lot of socks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are Noble merino wool socks made?

Our merino wool socks are spun in a trusted family-run mill in Portugal — our oldest ally in sock-making. Every pair is finished there to our own comfort and durability standard.

Are Noble merino wool socks sustainable?

Yes, sustainability is important to us. We source our merino wool responsibly, supporting farms and mills that share our respect for craftsmanship and environmental care — our merino comes from non-mulesed sheep, so you get warmth and comfort without compromising on animal welfare. Every fibre is OEKO-TEX certified, ensuring consumer safety and transparency.

What are the benefits of wearing merino wool socks?

Merino is breathable and moisture-wicking, and it naturally resists odour — so you can wear a pair more than once between washes, which is better for your wash pile and a little kinder to the planet too.

Are merino wool socks good for playing sport in?

Yes. Merino is lightweight and breathable, and it wicks moisture away to keep feet dry and comfortable, making it a solid choice for training, running, or anything active.

Can merino wool socks be worn every day?

Absolutely — that's exactly what they're built for. Lightweight, breathable, and comfortable enough for daily wear from the office to the outdoors.

Are merino wool socks good for walking in?

Yes. Merino regulates temperature well and keeps feet dry over long distances, making it a reliable choice for walking, hiking, and everyday miles on your feet.

Are Noble socks unisex?

Yes, all Noble socks are unisex, sized Small (UK 4–7), Medium (UK 8–10), and Large (UK 11–13).

Are merino wool socks itchy?

No. Fine, high-quality merino fibres are soft and gentle against the skin — nothing like traditional coarse wool — so they're comfortable for everyday wear.

Is there free delivery?

Yes. UK orders qualify for free Tracked 48 delivery over £60, or free Tracked 24 delivery over £100.

Real wool. Real comfort. Every step.

Every pair starts with the finest natural fibres — alpaca and merino, chosen for softness, warmth and resilience that lasts. We knit them on our unique vintage Bentley Komet machines in Portugal, a technique few factories still keep alive, built for density and durability that modern mass-production can't match. The result isn't a fast-fashion sock — it's a proper one. Comfortable underfoot, tough enough for miles, and made the way good socks always used to be made.
